Health and Safety

Requirements for in-studio classes

Louisville Academy of Dance is excited to continue moving forward. For the safety of our community and loved ones, it is important for all of us to proceed with the utmost precaution and safety during this challenging time. LAD is committed to work together with you to maintain a healthy and safe environment. When you come back things will be a little different for the time being.

The two suites at LAD will be separated by a partition, each with a separate entrance.

High touch surfaces will be sanitized before each class employing hygienic provisions in line with CDC recommendations.

All students should have their temperature taken by parents prior to coming to dance – even if they feel well.  Students should stay home if they have a fever, are exhibiting flu-like symptoms or have been in contact with someone who is ill.

Each student and faculty member will have their temperature taken with a no-touch thermometer prior to entering the facility.  A temperature of 100.4 degrees or higher will not be admitted.

Upon entering, all students (except Pre-Ballet) and faculty are required to wear a mask that fits securely and covers their nose and mouth and use the provided hand sanitizer.

The drinking fountains will be closed.  Older students who need water should bring a water bottle.

The facility will be closed to parents and families.  Students will need to wait on the sidewalk until a faculty member is ready at the entrance doors to check them in and escort them to class, assisting the dancers with shoes if needed.  Students must have a ride available 5 minutes prior to the end of class so that we may check in the next class.

Students should be prepared to social distance 6 feet between themselves and others and be aware of how much that distance actually is.  The studios will be marked with spots to enable the students to stand 6 feet apart at barre and center.

The refrigerator and microwave will be inaccessible.

The dressing room will be closed.  Students must arrive already dressed in dance attire (Academy C-F coming from school are the exception to this rule).

In an effort to avoid person to person paper transfers we are asking that you mail in your registration form and tuition checks. Please be aware that mail delivery has been taking as long as 7 to 14 days to arrive.
